Hello Friends, I’m Soozie.

I am committed to a Art Studio fueled by Bravery, Courage and Student Autonomy. I have worked with students at all learning levels throughout my career, now I am focused on primary and secondary classes.

I returned to University in 2021 to pursue my Art Education Certification. After working as a Docent for Milwaukee Art Museum, I knew I wanted to work with younger students. My previous education experience with High School, Cosmetology and Corporate Training gave me outlets for my artistic sensibilities, however, full time art education is my passion.

I believe that art education is a building block of empathy, autonomy, bravery and courage. The basic act of creating expressions of oneself is self healing and discovery. Thank you for joining me on my journey. Soozie

I believe that a culture of Bravery and Courage is the foundation of an effective art classroom.

These values guide both my teaching practice and the learning experiences I create for students.

Bravery emerges when students are given permission to fail, reflect, and try again. By cultivating a safe and supportive environment, I encourage students to express themselves authentically and to explore and develop their identities. I invite students into the world of Art—a discipline defined not by single answers, but by questions, curiosity, and multiple pathways for understanding.

Courage is the ongoing practice of bravery. In the art studio, students engage in repetition, experimentation, and continual knowledge seeking. All art concepts can be applied in numerous ways across mediums, and it is through this exploration that students learn to problem-solve with resilience and creativity. These experiences strengthen their Courage and foster Empathy, empowering them not only as artists but as thoughtful, capable individuals beyond the studio walls.

My teaching is grounded in the belief that when students feel brave enough to create and courageous enough to persist, they grow as artists.
